I actually had a chance to have a go on one of these things back in the day. I had a friend who imported one and was really excited about having "the latest thing" - It was rubbish.
There was some weird decisions being made by hardware manufacturers in the 90's -crap like virtual boy, 32X, CDO - they seemed to have their shit back together agin until the recent torrent of 3D mania.

well yeah, given the choice between this and the old 360 then this is clearly the one to get.
However given the choice between this and a PS3 then it still looks weak in comparison. Thats why the disagree's.

I think the difference is that Nintendo were showing straight away how the Wii control could be incorporated into its big franchises like Mario, Metroid & Zelda so even though it looked gimmicky at the time you couls see it working in real games - if you liked the games then you would ge over your aversion to the controller.

I put some serious time into Fallout to get my nice shiny platinum trophy - really looking forward to this game.
That said Im hoping they put a bit more effort into the actual (non VATS) shooting because it was pretty pants in Fallout 3.

Guitar Hero has overmilked the franchise way too much and this looks like its going the same way. I really like Trophies/Achievements and think they add a lot of replay value to games. Getting the "Beat Zico" trophy in Wipeout HD was probably one of the most euphoric moments of my life :)
I wouldnt say Sony ignored their handheld seeing as they dedicated a complete section to it and showed off some impressive psp titles - persona 3, VC2, GOW:GOS etc
Well Kinect is clearly a superior piece of tech to the pseye/eyetoy. The point is that based on what MS showed at E3 does all those fancy camera's and sensors make for a new improved controller free experience ?
For me its a no, what i saw was tragic and i felt embarrassed for the MS guys trying to convince us that this was something awesome.

The nintendo 3D isnt the same as true stereoscopic 3D - its just a trick that adds depth to an image which will work fine on a small screen but wouldnt be very good on anything bigger.
